The Practice


The problem most people run into is NOT that they can't or that they don't know how - BUT THE STORIES THEY TELL THEMSELVES about what they're capable of.


I call these concepts - “Brain Bleeds and The Death of Goldilocks.” - everyone who completes the 75 Awesome challenge will get a coupon for my up and coming book + some special extras that take a deep dive into these concepts and their corresponding solutions.

ANYWAY - THE PROBLEM:
Things are either too simple to seem important, or two complicated to be worth the effort. People have overlapped and destroyed their perspective, so that the "Goldilocks" zone of motivation no longer exists... and all we're left with is a bunch of rampant A.D.D. crack monkies for thoughts.

As a result, people are more disconnected now, than ever.

Suicide has jumped to the number 1 cause of death in certain demographics.

The fastest growing weight class in America is 300+ lbs.

and medicated, depressed, with moderate - to - sever anxiety has become the norm.

…people are getting more tired, crazy, sick, burnt out, and lifeless by the day.

THAT'S THE DEATH OF GOLDILOCKS

“The Goldilocks” zone is - Is the place in motivation theory where things are “just right”. Exciting enough to be interesting, but simple enough to seem doable.

THAT'S WHAT THIS ADVENTURE IS ALL ABOUT - So if you're tired of all the shit, dream of something better, and want the tools to restructure and take back your life, then you're in the right place.

Today is an easy day.
The only thing you need to do today is take some time to understand the problem, and see where any of this might factor in to your life. Take notes if you feel like it.

The OBSTICLE is the way.

The second thing I call "Brain bleeds" because I have a flair for the dramatic, at times. - It's the culmination of cognitive load, dopamine drains, and distractions being jacked through the fucking roof.

Even IF, and that's a big IF, you could overcome the death of Goldilocks (and make the journey seem both doable and interesting) You'd still be left with people with an absolute mess of leaky systems (habits, environment, thinking mechanics, atrophy, the breakdown of grit and adaptability through trauma), that would quickly murder the shit out of Goldilocks again.

(The fear of starting small, fear of failure, fear of judgment of others... all boiled down into the risk of trying... and that if we did so... we could risk destroying our egos or sense of self-worth... that so many people have struggled so desperately to hang onto for years!!)

Bottom line - it happens to pretty much everyone, even the best of us, and people are firmly locked into quiet lives of desperation.

The ones who make it to a happy life, are the ones who learn how to manage these systems.

I've spent 5+ years working on the way out... and after $10,000 of dollars in research and development costs, filming over 500 gigs of video discussing the subject, and writing countless thousands of pages of notes working on "THE ANSWER" what I can tell you is, it's painfully and deceptively simple.

...but it's a lot like increasing your bench press max. "Knowing" how, doesn't make you any stronger or able to lift more weight. Just like "knowing" how to beat the L.A. Lakers doesn't make you #1 basketball team in the NBA.

In theory, it's super simple. You just lift weights or score more points than them.

Those are just ideas and concepts though. It's dedication and practice that make things real.

I want to be SUPER clear here. For example: Knowing about confidence does not make you confident.

I could chat GPT "how to make a million dollars" and even if the information was good, and I gave that info to 1,000 people who wanted to be millionaires... odds are, none of them would get rich.

KNOWLEDGE IS NOT ENOUGH. - It's the subtilties of training, practice, and planning that make all the difference.

SO - LET'S GET INTO THE FIRST SYSTEM, THAT TAKES 5 MINUTES, THAT COULD COMPLETELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE...

Every day touch 10 things, and do something productive with them. That's it.

I could spend 5 hours OR 5 years explaining these concepts. Or you could spend 5 minutes DOING it, every day, and see for yourself.

Have an experience, trust the process, and do this ONE simple exercise, every day, for 75 days, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, and you'll learn something that can't be taught.

Faith in the possibilities, and the genuine belief in your potential.

I just had another set of breakthroughs with both some clients and myself.

Here's what happened:

I told them something they already knew, then 20-30 days later depending on the project and level of dedication/implementation they were like "OOoohh I get it now, or I'm starting to anyway."

Then things changed. Then they started to hit goals they never thought they could. They achieved what they previously thought was impossible, and I got to watch them be baffled by their own success and accomplishment.

It never seems real, till it is.

Have an adventure. Give yourself permission to make mistakes. Learn what consistency really feels like, and get started now.

Make it easy, make it simple, make it fun. Start repeatedly, start consistently... have fun with it, and you'll feel better.

Finish 1 simple new thing every day. Find fun people to talk to about it.

Think of one thing you want to quit doing.. and do it less. I love cookies. I have cookies.. but today I'm not going to eat the entire box in one sitting and instead I'm going to start a blog and start working out.

Day 1 - Is a very interesting day. A whole world of possibilities is before you. The above is from one of the first articles I ever wrote. Before I ran my first marathon. Before I restarted my business. Before I met my now girl friend and took our first month long vacation together.

It's amazing to me, that after 5 years of study, $10,000 of dollars in research and development costs, filming over 500 gigs of video discussing the subject, and writing countless thousands of pages of notes... it really is that simple.

Pick a thing. Do a thing. Every day. - and keep track.

If that doesn't seem like a "real" enough or "powerful" enough concept, let me put it another way.

This video is from the start of my 4th "75 Awesome Challenge"

By my 5th challenge I had purchased almost a half a million dollar house with my new girl friend, and now I'm building all the furniture for my dream living room as I write this.


When I started though, covid had just destroyed my business of over 10+ years, my cats had just died, my girl friend left, I had just lost everything I ever loved, suffered some relatively severe brain damage, and then was homeless.

I still have videos from every challenge. We'll be going through a lot of it in this course, and you'll actually get to see, first hand, each step of the journey as I prove these concepts in practice, to build onto each step of progress.

There is more power in simple actions than most people realize. Once you train long enough, you WILL realize it, and then you will realize that power into your life.

Why is that relevant? - The biggest reason people don't hit their goals is the stories they tell themselves.

OLD STUCK STORIES

- About how it isn't real, it isn't possible, and you can't do it. These stories are often SUBCONCIOUS and REFLEXIVE.

It's time to start telling yourself a different story... then living it daily.

How it works
Beliefs are what happen automatically and in a split second of "feeling" despite what you may say out loud. It's like when you say "I know I can do this", but then are pleasantly and honestly surprised when you actually do.

That surprise you feel is your misaligned subconscious beliefs shifting to your new reality. That's where confidence comes from. Having done the work.

The first step is to suspend judgment for a little while and simply have an adventure. See what else is out there. Honest exploration, discovers new perspective, that changes what's possible.

What people usually have but don't realize:

  • They have the power to change

  • They have the knowledge

  • They have the ability

  • More often than not, they even have the connections.

Common Blocks:

  • Unrealistic expectations of what it will take.

  • Mismatched desires.

  • A lack of mindfulness - In daily actions and training.

  • No clear plan or direction, just a vague ambition.


Summary & Life Changing Adventure:

  1. Touch 10 things exercise.

  2. Make a list of your 3 most important goals. (Physical, personal, professional)

  3. Pick the one that inspires you the most. Go with your gut. What do you crave? (there is a way to do it)

  4. Make note - Write one sentence in a word document, or take a picture. (of yourself or something meaningful)

That's it. Don't worry about the "tyranny of how" just yet. That's what the rest of the challenge is for. We'll figure out exactly HOW as we go.

Last Example:
To start the day, I touched 10 pieces of trash on my desk. Earlier today, I touched 10 pieces of workout equipment for 2 minutes each. Just now I touched 10 pieces of software, for about 4 hours, to build this webpage and edit the videos for the challenge.

Get into the habit of action. Everything else is built form there. This is the start of "Building your basecamp" and your first "Anchor Point". Don't let today end without having touched 10 things.
